“Art is a nation’s most precious heritage. For it is in our works of art that we reveal to ourselves and to others the inner vision which guides us as a nation. And where there is no vision, the people perish.”

–Lyndon Johnson, on signing into existence the National Endowment on the Arts

At Ephphatha, we believe that art is an integral part of life and that every student possesses artistic abilities. we do not think of art as simply painting or drawing but as a way of life.

Art at Ephphatha goes from painting and visual art to performance art like dance and drama and poetry and spoken word.

Art gives learners confidence in themselves as well as in their decisions giving them the ability to let their voices stand out in a crowd.

Art provides learners critical life skills to help them navigate their futures. Participation in art programs increases creativity as well as exposes learners to collaborative work and respect for ideas and peers.

All Ephphatha learners are encouraged to have at least one artistic outlet. in reality, the possibilities are endless. Art participation reduces stress, uplifts mental health, as well as increases, focus for learners.
